Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Needed to replace a 10 yr old Saniflo pump and toilet on the lower level of my house. It was in a tight corner and a bit of a messy project. When Issac called to say he had a cancellation and showed up early I was ecstatic. He insisted on taking his time and made sure to do a professional installation, even better than the original. Thoroughly impressed with Issac and his work. Definitely recommend Mr Rooter

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆As a senior I was a little wary about having a plumbing company come into my home as I have never had to call a plumber before. The lady on the phone set my mind at ease and made me feel comfortable. The plumber came out on time, very clean looking, and was very nice too. He gave me a price upfront for replacing my toilet as it was old and had a crack and then did the work as agreed. I was very pleased with this company, very professional and would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a plumber. The plumber I had was Shaun, thank you for your services!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Your representatives on the phone were very polite and professional, and I was very pleased that not only did someone call to let me know when the service tech would arrive the day of my appointment, but I was also sent an email of his name and photo. That shows the outstanding care that you take of your customers before my service appointment even started. Your rates were a little higher then the other companies I quoted, but it was worth it for the extra level of professionalism that seems to be absent with others. Absolutely will recommend you, and use you again!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆MR. ROOTER gave excellent service from the moment we called Feb. 12 ( AM) until the service was completed that evening. We were told we'd receive a call after 3 PM to tell us a tech would be coming. 3:30 PM..received a call that tech would come in an hour or so… Atr 4:30… We received a call that he was on his way. SEBASTIEN arrived around 5:30 and was very professional and knowledgeable during the the whole procedure. He explained everything and kept my husband well informed. He showed him the inside of drain and the reason why it had plugged. He is a very nice young man and you should be proud to have him in your employment. We would highly recommend MR. ROOTER to others who have a drain problem. Thanks to everyone at Mr. ROOTER. Wayne & Liz Hatt ( very satisfied customers)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Great experience! Woke up this morning to find my basement flooded after five solid days of rain. The drain pipe to which the floor drains and the roof eaves are attached was solid with roots. All the local plumbers in St. Catharines were too busy with calls from people with backed-up sewers, but Mr. Rooter in Hamilton sent Brad down by mid-afternoon. Brad is very personable and professional. We discussed the job, decided on snaking from the outflow in the gulley behind the house up toward the house. Brad had the right tools and machinery for the job. He didn't quit when he got the water flowing out, but continued until he had pulled out the entire obstructing root ball (the size of the 3" pipe and over a foot long). On the basis of this experience, I've signed up for the Valued Customer Advantage Plan. Thanks, Brad!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars★ ★ ★ ★ ★☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Chad fixed two taps in our basement. He was very friendly and as I was curious took the time to show me what he was doing. Probably the most fun I've ever had on a service call. 3 years later… Chad came back to replace another old valve that was leaking and fix a drip on the outside tap. He was very mindful of pandemic protocols and got everything fixed up for us. We were also able to catch up on some 90's Toronto dance music history which made the whole visit fun.

Frequently Asked Questions About Plumbing in Acton, Ontario
If you have any queries or concerns, we offer a 24/7 call answering service for your convenience. To find out more about our plumbing services, read our commonly asked questions below.
-
Many instances of dripping faucets are caused by mineral build-up and overtightening the faucets that slowly wear out their inner components like washers and valve seats. When you have excessively high water pressure, nearing close to 100 PSI, the water flow in your pipes can be affected, and water can leak out your faucets. Faucet components like adjusting rings and packing nuts can come undone over time, resulting in leaks around the base of your faucet. Poor DIY installation of a faucet can cause leaks, leading to the need for a trained service professional to reinstall them and repair the leak.
-
Low water pressure can be caused by partially closed water shutoff valves from previous inspections or maintenance, so check these to ensure they’re fully open. Clogged pipes can cause lower-than-average water pressure, which can mean you need to call a plumber to reduce the risk of a burst pipe. When you’re experiencing drastic fluctuations in your water pressure, such as high to low and vice versa, your home’s pressure regulator may require repairs or replacement. As water pressure changes can sometimes be caused by leaking pipes, look for wet spots on your property and contact a trusted plumber.
-
You don’t have to fix a slow-draining sink by yourself; instead, call a plumbing service provider you trust to diagnose and repair the problem for you. In many cases, soap scum and grease can cause a sink to be slow-draining, but you may be able to solve the problem with baking soda and vinegar. When you suspect a hard-to-shift clog in your sink, use a plumbing snake, also known as an auger – insert it into your drain, twist it, and pull out any clogs. When P-traps collect debris that has washed down your sink, they can become blocked and require cleaning out by homeowners or trusted plumbers.
-
Many leaks are caused by poor maintenance, so schedule maintenance tasks, such as drain cleaning and water heater flushing, with a trusted plumber to prevent plumbing leaks. If you don’t wash anything unhealthy down your drains, such as paper products, eggshells, grease, or coffee grinds, you may avoid clogs that lead to severe pipe damage and leaks. If your water pressure is above your city’s ‘average,’ install a water pressure regulator so you can manage fluctuations and prevent pipe damage that leads to leaks. Cold winters in Canada can take their toll on pipes — freezing and bursting them — but you can prevent that from happening by insulating, covering, and protecting your exposed pipes.
-
If you don’t have the time or experience to diagnose the cause of a bad-smelling sink, contact an experienced plumber to do it for you. When you detect foul smells in your drains, contact plumbers to check for clogs since blockages can attract bacteria that multiply and produce unpleasant odours. The next time you notice a bad smell from your sink, check the P-trap; if it’s dry from lack of use, sewer gases could be leaking into your home, causing a sulphur-like odour. If you have a garburator, be mindful of any foul smells that may be emanating from it, as bacteria and rotting food on its blades could be responsible.
-
You can struggle with a lack of hot water when your water heater is not large enough for the size of your household and its usage needs. Check your water heater’s thermostat to ensure it’s not too low but refrain from setting it higher than 60°C, or it can put water users at risk of severe burns. Many older water heaters that aren’t producing enough hot water have broken thermostats, heating elements, or gas valves, so check in with your local plumber for help. Older water heaters manufactured before 1997 often have dip tubes that push cold water to the bottom of the tank for heating — failure of these causes cold water to enter your pipes.
-
When facing an unusually high water bill, talk to your local plumber about possible leaking pipes, faucets, and fixtures that could be to blame. Check that your outdoor irrigation system is adequately set up for your property since overconsumption of water and wasteful runoff can be common issues if they aren’t. Inspect the water-using appliances in your home, like water heaters, dishwashers, and ice makers, since they can cause significant water wastage when they have problems. Leaking toilets with continuously refilling tanks can take a toll on your water bill, especially when they can lead to the loss of hundreds of litres of water every day.
-
- Turn off water and electricity: Keep everyone on your property safe after a pipe bursts by turning off the water and electricity supply if it’s safe to do so.
- Contact a plumber: Burst pipes can be complicated, so leave the repair or replacement of your pipe to a trusted plumber in your area.
- Clean up the water: As long as there is no sewage risk, obtain towels and buckets to clean up standing water once your power and water are turned off.
- Document the damage: Burst pipes can cause significant property damage, so start documenting it in photo and video form and create a detailed list of losses for insurance purposes.
-
Water can continuously flow into a toilet tank if the overflow tube is too short, so replace the flush valve to fix the problem. If you notice that your toilet tank has too much water, your float may no longer be telling the fill valve when the tank is full. Pay attention to the condition of the flapper at the base of your toilet tank since it may be causing water to escape. A less common cause of water continuing to fill in the toilet is a bent float arm — bending it back into shape or replacing it can solve the problem.
-
Turn off the water supply to your home easily and without tools by locating a water valve inside your house and turning it clockwise. Look for an outdoor underground water meter box – you can access the water valve inside it with a pentagon socket wrench. Some outdoor water meter boxes for turning off home water supplies require the use of pliers or water meter keys so you can access the water valve. If you can’t find your water valve. access it, or turn it off, contact a trusted plumbing service provider for help.
