The service we received was excellent. Krisztian was extremely competent and thorough in his efforts to solve our issue. He was professional and explained everything to us as we went through the process. It is not very often you find someone quite so diligent and hard-working. We would highly recommend Mr. Rooter of Caledon based on this experience.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

we have an old farm house and didn't realize that it still had the old cast iron drain throughout the house and to the septic. It was rotting from the inside out and had developed a small leak. Called Mr. Rooter whom i have used in the past and Kristian, Emerson and Sean professionally dealt with it. They changed it to whatever the new code is and also brought some old issues up to code as they were doing such a big job. The next day, Ron and Emerson returned to flush out the old pieces from the septic to prevent any blockage. And….they did clean up once finished taking all the old pipe etc away. I would certainly recommend them!

  • WARREN R.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I like the service, but every time I get somthing done you ask me to fill out surveys multiple times. I filled one out earlier and am still being asked. It's bordering on harrasing behaviour so you should do somthing about that or i'll have to block the emails.

Thorough installation job done in a difficult spot and the plumber was very freindly. Price was also competitive for the level of difficulty, installing the fawcet and shut off for the garage in the rafters of the bacement ceiling.

Chad responded to our call, was very professional and was a joy to chat with. He's a gamer like myself so it made the experience really cool. He was able to replace the seal on my toilet and unclog my sink and tub in a very timely manner. His procedures were top notch for this time of crisis.

  • LAURA W.

We had a sewer line replaced in our home last week. All the work was completed as we were told it would be. It was done in the estimated timeframe and the work was very clean. Very professional group who did the job. We now have piece of mind that our sewer line should be problem free for years to come. Service: Sewer repair

  • Murray M.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Great experience! Woke up this morning to find my basement flooded after five solid days of rain. The drain pipe to which the floor drains and the roof eaves are attached was solid with roots. All the local plumbers in St. Catharines were too busy with calls from people with backed-up sewers, but Mr. Rooter in Hamilton sent Brad down by mid-afternoon. Brad is very personable and professional. We discussed the job, decided on snaking from the outflow in the gulley behind the house up toward the house. Brad had the right tools and machinery for the job. He didn't quit when he got the water flowing out, but continued until he had pulled out the entire obstructing root ball (the size of the 3" pipe and over a foot long). On the basis of this experience, I've signed up for the Valued Customer Advantage Plan. Thanks, Brad!

Frequently Asked Questions About Water Heater Repair & Replacement in Acton, Ontario

Read our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ below for all your water heater repair and replacement-related questions. To learn more about our services, reach out to the team at Mr. Rooter Plumbing® in Acton, Ontario today.

  • Rather than trying to fix a water heater yourself when you don’t have the right knowledge, skills, or tools, contact a trained plumbing service provider with experience in repairs and maintenance. Look for information about licensing and insurance for peace of mind before choosing a plumbing service provider in your area to repair your water heater. Read online reviews and testimonials and talk to friends and family members before hiring a plumbing service provider for water heater repairs so you can feel more confident. When you see that a water heater repair expert offers guaranteed parts and workmanship, you may be more likely to hire them for peace of mind.

  • When your water heater isn’t producing hot water, you or your chosen service professional can check the power supply, heating element, and thermostat to diagnose the problem. Repairs and replacements through service professionals can be required when your water heater is leaking due to corrosion, a loose connection, or a faulty pressure relief valve. Strange sounds from your water heater can indicate sediment buildup, which your local service professional can address by performing a tank flush. As tempting as it can be to repair a water heater yourself, trained and licensed service typically have more experience, skills, and the right tools for repairs and replacements.

  • In many situations, an older water heater with a label saying it’s at least 8-12 years old may not be worth repairing if it has major problems. When a new water heater is just 50% more than repairing an old water heater, replacing it is a more cost-effective solution. A water heater that service professionals have repaired multiple times before typically isn’t cost-effective to fix, and you should explore replacement options instead. Think about how well your water heater is performing and whether it’s efficient — these points can help you decide whether you want to repair or replace it.

  • Rust and damage affecting your water heater mean that repairs are a less recommended and cost-effective option than total water heater replacement with an expert. When a water heater leaks from its pipes and fittings, check the connections on your inlet and outlet pipes for leaks and, if necessary, ask service professionals to help fix them. If you have a leak from a broken pressure relief valve in your water heater, contact a trained service professional to replace it for you. Leaks in the vicinity of your water heater’s drain valve can indicate that it isn’t fully closed or has been damaged and requires the help of service professionals to fix.

  • If you haven’t maintained your water heater, or it’s old and worn out, you may pay more to repair it than a newer or well-maintained model. Different water heater models come with varying repair costs based on how they’re built, with gas, electric, tank, and tankless types each having their own price considerations. You likely won’t be told an ‘average’ repair cost since water heaters can encounter different problems like leaks, faulty thermostats, and sediment buildup that cost different amounts to fix. The town, city, or region you call home can contribute to the bill you receive for water heater repairs since labour costs vary from location to location.

  • How much you pay to replace a water heater depends on the type you choose to buy, such as a gas or electric version of a tank or tankless water heater. Pay attention to the flow rate or water tank size of your preferred tankless or tank water heater since those factors contribute to your overall replacement bill. Many factors contribute to your overall water heater replacement bill, like the company you choose to install it, permits, how complicated it is to install, and your location. The best way to find out how much it costs to replace a water heater is by contacting your local service professional for an estimate.

  • You should start thinking about replacing your water heater with the help of a service professional if it’s old, expensive, and less efficient than a new model. Old water heaters can start to cost money, so if you’ve spent half the cost of a new unit on repairing your old one, it’s time to buy a replacement. As rust and slow-forming leaks in water heaters can quickly turn into major problems, buy a new unit as soon as possible. There are countless reasons to replace your water heater, like wanting to benefit from more advanced technologies, upgrading to one that’s more fit for purpose, and not having to worry about frustrating sediment buildup anymore.

  • How long it takes to replace a water heater depends on the type of water heater you’ve chosen to install with the help of a service professional. When your plumbing service provider needs to install, repair, or replace plumbing connections, this contributes to a longer timeline to replace your water heater. There’s a chance your chosen service professional will need longer than average for water heater replacement if they need to install a new gas line or modify your old water heater to remove it. It will only take a few hours for your chosen water heater expert to replace your water heater if everything goes according to plan and the installation process is straightforward.

  • Depending on your water heater type and model, you can consider the ‘average’ lifespan and replace your water heater once it reaches that age. Every water heater is different, but most tank water heaters have an average lifespan of 8-12 years or 10-15 if it’s a high-efficiency water heater. If you own a tankless water heater that has been well-installed and maintained, it’s not uncommon for it to provide 15 to 20 years of faithful service. Water quality problems, a lack of maintenance, performance problems and ongoing issues may all contribute to a water heater not meeting its average expected lifespan.

  • Some home buyers will choose a property with worthwhile upgrades, like high-efficiency water heaters, over properties with fewer upgrades and older water heaters. Houses can appear more cared for and looked after when their owners invest in upgraded appliances and fixtures, such as water heaters, for more efficiency and comfort. Alongside a new water heater, homeowners may like to make other upgrades to get a better return on their investment, such as new appliances or a full kitchen and bathroom renovation. Research the market conditions in your area when house-hunting as they, alongside upgrades like water heaters, contribute to how much a property sells for.
