Waking up in the morning to find our main sewer drain backed up was not the way I was expecting to start my day. However Mr. Rooter came through big time! Their representative on the phone was a big help, and sent a plumber out right away. The plumber Chad, was incredible. He came in and fixed the problem and it took him perhaps less than an hour. He was here in and incredibly timely fashion and was polite, straight to the point and was all around just amazing. I can’t thank him enough and wanted to emphasize how incredible he was. Thanks Chad and Mr. rooter for all your help!! Service: Sewer repair

When I called to make an appointment the gentleman that answered asked, “how can I make you smile today?” Which I thought was a great greeting, especially having come home from vacation to a leak! He cheered me up! The next morning the lady who called to notify us of our appointment time was also friendly, accommodating and understanding! The plumber, Chad, showed up on time and greeted us very professionally! He was very knowledgeable and super friendly! He took the time to explain every little detail and answered all of our questions patiently and in terms that we could understand. When he diagnosed the problem he gave us all of our options with various price points and never made us feel Obligated to choose any specific option or to even have the work done by him. We went ahead and had the work done by Chad and he did it quickly, carefully, and ensured we were happy with it before he left! He definitely fixed the problem and even went above and beyond with how he treated and in our home! He was very clean and respectful of our property. Never once did he wear his shoes in the house without covers and he even cleaned my bathtub after he was done working on it. We have nothing bad to say about him he is fantastic all around! I will definitely call him back specifically To have work done! I have to say, both Mr. Rooter and their sister company Birnie Plumbing and Drains have fantastic employees and work ethic! Thanks again Chad! Services: Plumbing leak repair, Plumbing leak detection

Your location and even the septic tank pumping expert you choose to pump your septic tank contribute to the cost of this important service. The bigger your septic tank is, the more waste it can hold and the more it can cost to empty, depending on the service provider you choose. If you prioritize regular septic tank pumping, you may pay less than someone who doesn’t because there is less waste to pump from your tank and a reduced risk of overflow. Distance from the disposal site, tank condition, accessibility, and additional services like inspections all contribute to how much you pay for septic tank pumping.
-
Your individual needs and the type of septic tank you have will influence the recommended timeframe for arranging septic tank pumping with your preferred provider. Septic tank emptying timeframes are influenced by factors like whether or not you use a garburator, the size of your business or family, the size of your tank, and even the climate. In many situations, small households with large tanks only need to pump them every three to five years compared to approximately twice yearly for large families with small tanks. There’s no harm in reaching out to a septic tank pumping service provider for advice if you’re unsure how often you should be emptying your septic tank.
-
Contact a septic tank pumping company to have your septic tank pumped if you notice that your shower, sink, and toilet gurgles every time you use them. When your septic tank is so full that wastewater can’t escape through drain pipes, you may notice that your toilet doesn’t flush, and sewage might even back up into your house and yard. Given that water pooling in a yard can mean that you have a broken septic tank pipe or a full tank, contact a plumbing service provider without delay. If you spot patches of unusually healthy grass, consult your local plumbing service provider about a potentially full or leaking septic tank, as raw sewage can stimulate growth and cause soil contamination.
-
Finding the right septic tank pumping professional in your area can take time, so perform research until you find an expert you feel confident to hire. Online searches are among the most common ways to find septic tank pumping companies, so use your phone or computer to explore search engines and local business directories. Rely on word of mouth and talk to friends, family, neighbours, and other people to find a trusted plumbing service provider for septic tank pumping who comes highly recommended. If you have helpful staff at your local home improvement store, ask them if they would recommend any particular company for septic tank pumping services.
-
Contact a licensed and insured service professional for septic tank pumping at any time to book your service — there’s no right or wrong time. Winter can present challenges like frozen and snow-covered ground and challenging septic tank access, so you may like to book septic tank pumping before or after the worst of the season. Many property owners organize their septic tank pumping services over the warmer months of the year, so consider doing this in advance since time slots can be booked up quickly! The ground surrounding your septic system can be quite soft after heavy rain, so consider pumping your septic tank ahead of heavy rain or once it has passed.
-
Don’t try to pump your own septic tank yourself since experts say you need experience, knowledge, and specialized septic tank pumping equipment for this job. Specialized tools and equipment like vacuum trucks and pumps, as well as health and safety gear for protection against pathogens, are required for effective and safe septic tank pumping. When you hire septic tank pumping experts, you gain access to their years of industry experience, including best waste disposal practices and detailed insights into septic systems. You may not be legally allowed to pump your septic tank in Canada, with regulations often passed in different Canadian provinces for when and how to pump your tank to prevent environmental pollution.
-
If you own a traditional septic system in Canada with a septic tank and a drain field, you’ll need to pump it on a regular schedule to maintain efficient wastewater treatment. You may enjoy how low-maintenance chamber septic systems are compared to others, but these systems with leaching chambers instead of drain fields still need to be pumped like more traditional systems. Many owners of small lots in Canada have advanced secondary septic systems that, while sophisticated, still require regular filter renewals, general repairs, and septic tank pumping. When you’re not sure whether your septic system needs to be pumped, contact a reputable septic tank pumping service provider to ask the question.
-
Septic systems with various parts to manage and treat wastewater on homeowners’ properties are common in rural Canada in areas without municipal sewers to direct sewage away. Standard septic systems are set up to collect the waste from your home, separate both solids and liquids, take care of pollutants, and distribute the effluent to your property’s soil. Septic systems manage both greywater and blackwater, where blackwater is the wastewater from toilets, and greywater comes from sinks, showers, washing machines, baths, and dishwashers that flow through the main drainage pipe. When septic systems process wastewater and remove contaminants such as bacteria and parasites, the treated water travels into the ground, becomes groundwater and eventually flows into streams, lakes, and rivers.
-
When solids in your septic tank exceed the tank’s capacity, they can start to overflow on your property and cause blockages, which aren’t all that nice to deal with! When solids overflow from septic tanks due to irregular pumping, they can enter groundwater and soil, causing drinking water contamination with disease-causing viruses, bacteria, and protozoa. Septic system efficiency can be affected by irregular pumping, with solids taking up leftover space for wastewater, causing inefficiencies and increasing the risk of system failure. Not emptying your septic tank can mean you smell unpleasant smells on your property, which also indicate that there’s something wrong with your septic system.
-
Most septic tank lids are around 60 cm wide and made of concrete or plastic in a green or black colour, so take note of these descriptions and inspect your property as thoroughly as possible. For the sake of convenience, many property diagrams are provided with the septic tanks identified on them, so refer to yours and see if you can spot it. Walk around your property with a metal probe and dig it into the ground to potentially find a septic tank lid hidden under dirt and grass. When your septic tank lid is proving impossible to find, contact a trusted septic tank pumping business since they often carry equipment that is useful for finding hidden lids.
