  • Aly P.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

We had Jayden come to our acreage and inspect some water that was coming up through our basement floor. Jayden was transparent on everything he was doing. Respectful, on time and courteous. He was so personable and able to relay our issue in terms I could understand. He was able to find a clog in our line and unplug it for us. He then proceeded to recommend best course of action going forward, advice to which we took. I appreciate him and the work he did. He was fantastic to deal with and his knowledge on acreages was an asset. Mr. rooter may not be the cheapest option, but they come with the tools needed to get the job done, and that brings peace of mind. Thank you again, Jayden!!

  • Cheryl G.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I had leaking water meter connections so phoned in and spoke with Amber who was so pleasant and wonderful to deal with. She quickly set up the appointment for me and was patient as I had to coordinate activities with my condo property management and EPCOR. And then there was Austin. I cannot say enough good things about him! He went about the repairs working autonomously, quickly and neatly (he didn’t have the best working conditions I might add), and took the time to answer my questions honestly, and even to pet Bella, our cat, who surprisingly showed a great deal of interest in him—I think she fell in love with him a little bit, lol! If you’re like I was, wondering what to do and who to call, don’t put it off, call Mr Rooter.

Genuine, respectful, and incredibly helpful. I've had them out to more than one property for multiple issues, and I'll keep going back.

Frequently Asked Questions About Drain Cleaning in Devon, Alberta

For more information about drain cleaning, view the answers to our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ below. The committed team at Mr. Rooter Plumbing® in Devon, Alberta is available to take your call when you need more information about our range of plumbing services.

  • The average drain cleaning cost can depend on factors like your chosen drain cleaning professional, where your property is located, and even whether the drain cleaning company finds other issues with your drains. Plumbers often use different tools for different drains, like your bathroom, kitchen, and main sewer lines, which may contribute to the overall cost of drain cleaning. A drain cleaning service provider can charge based on the tools and tech they use, like drain augers, HydroScrub® Jetting, and video inspection equipment. If your drain cleaning company attends your property on an emergency callout and faces drain damage and blockages, your drain cleaning bill may reflect this.

  • Persistent drain clogs and home remedies that are no longer effective are some of the many ways to know that you require professional drain cleaning. Now is a good time to book professional drain cleaning for your sewer line and plumbing system if you have slow drainage and clogged drains. A number of alarming signs indicate the need for professional drain cleaning services, such as wastewater backing up into tubs, sinks, and toilets, as well as unusual sounds from your drains. Don’t ignore strange odours coming from your drains; they can indicate the need for drain cleaning in the near future due to food and other debris in your drains.

  • There’s no right or wrong time to clean your home or business drains; book an essential drain cleaning service at any time. If you want to prevent major issues and keep your plumbing in good working order, schedule a drain cleaning service at least once a year. Schedule a drain cleaning service every two to three years if you have reasonably new plumbing that’s in excellent condition and has no former history of problems. Professional drain cleaning service providers recommended receiving more frequent drain cleaning services if you have a large family home or commercial business.

  • Rest assured knowing your local trusted drain cleaning service provider has many different tools and technologies they can use for straightforward drain cleaning. When plumbers need to dislodge and remove blockages in commercial and residential drains, they often use manual and powered plumbing snakes, also called augers. Stubborn clogs aren’t always easy to clear with manual tools, which is why many plumbing professionals use advanced tech like HydroScrub® Jetting to shift tough blockages. Drain cleaning service providers can work efficiently with a range of drain cleaning tools and equipment, like drain inspection cameras, rooter machines, and pipe wrenches.

  • Most plumbing service providers recommend regular plumbing maintenance and servicing to keep your home and business drains clean, identify potential future problems, and prevent blockages and clogs. When you want to reduce the risk of drain blockages in your home or business, install drain screens that stop hair, food, and other particles from entering your drains. Home drain cleaning remedies like hot water, baking soda, and vinegar may help keep your drains clear and fresh while even potentially preventing minor clogs. Maintaining fresh and clog-free drains is as simple as being careful with what you pour down your drains, such as avoiding grease and oil.

  • Don’t look past your local plumbing service provider for helpful tips, tricks, and advice on keeping your drains clean and free of clogs and blockages. Many plumbers recommend that homeowners and businesses use drain screens and strainers in their showers, sinks, and bathtubs to prevent hair, food, and other debris from clogging their drains. Baking soda and vinegar solutions, along with regular drain cleaning services, are effective ways to keep your drains clean and clear for peace of mind. You may be able to avoid blockages and poor-performing plumbing systems, and keep your commercial or residential drains clean by only flushing toilet paper down your toilets.

  • Most trusted plumbing service providers would certainly not recommend the use of chemical drain cleaners in home or business drains for clearing blockages and ensuring drain cleanliness. There are numerous products available for drain cleaning that are less harsh than chemical cleaners, such as hot water, dish soap, vinegar, and baking soda. Book regular drain cleaning services with use drain snakes, hydro-jetting units, and other effective tools instead of resorting to chemical drain cleaners that could damage your pipes. While not the case with all chemical drain cleaners, some are associated with pipe damage, poor indoor air quality, the loss of good bacteria, and general skin irritation.

  • P-traps, also known as sink traps, being blocked with food, hair, and other debris, is among the most common reasons for a sink not draining or being slow to drain. A clogged drain caused by any number of things, like grease, oil, hair, food, or other debris, can be why a sink is no longer draining. The regular practice of pouring grease and oil down your drains can be why your sink is slow draining, with grease known to solidify in drains and block them. You may be surprised by how many things can cause sinks to be slow-draining, like poor fixture and pipe installation, pipe venting problems, issues with your main sewer lines, and pipe damage.

  • Alongside scheduling regular drain cleaning appointments with a plumbing service provider, plumbers can also recommend a solution of baking soda and vinegar for cleaning and clearing pipes. Dish soap and hot water aren’t just helpful for washing up; they are also helpful ingredients for clearing minor clogs resulting from grease and grime in your drains. When natural ingredients aren’t powerful enough to clear tough clogs, or you want something to work with them, your local plumbing service provider will recommend drain augers and HydroScrub® Jetting. In some cases, it can be easy to clean your pipes and take care of minor clogs by pouring salt and baking soda down your drains.

  • Use a drain snake to clean and clear your bathroom drain – insert it into the drain and remove it with the clog attached. Try baking soda and vinegar in equal parts down your bathroom drain for around 30 minutes to clean it and take care of minor clogs. When you have a buildup of soap scum and grease in your bathroom drain, get rid of it by using a mixture of hot water and dish soap left to soak for 10 minutes. While there are plenty of drain-cleaning home remedies, leaving your plumbing system maintenance in the capable hands of trained plumbing professionals is the best idea.
