As we celebrate Hug a Plumber Day, we wanted to share news on the work of one of our franchisees who’s going above and beyond the call of duty.

Trent Dawson, who owns Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Mid-Ohio has collected several lost class rings through the years during plumbing jobs. You wouldn’t believe where those rings turn up when you are performing basic plumbing calls! Often, the rings do not belong to the residents at your job site, and may have very well been washed miles away from where they were originally lost.

Last week we reached out to the local schools in the area to see if we could return them to their original owners. In just a few short days, we were able to identify two of the owners, one of which we spoke with late last week. She was very excited to see her ring after missing it for almost four decades. The ring was lost in the late 1970s. We will keep you posted on the progress of finding the other rings. Below is recap of the rings he has found over the years.

Ring #1 Status: Female owner found and is anxious to get her ring back.

She currently lives in the Greater Tampa Bay Area of Florida. The missing ring is from the Black River High School (Ohio) class of 1969.

Ring #2 Status: We have found a female owner who is anxious to get her ring back. She lives in Greater Mansfield Area, Ohio. The missing ring is from the class of 1991 of Mansfield High School (Ohio).

Ring #3 Status: We have located a gentleman who believes this is his brother’s ring, and are working further with him. Its marking show it is from the Ashland High School (Ohio) class of 1989.

Ring #4 Status: This ring is still a mystery, and we are hoping to find its owner and identify the school from which it originated. It is a black stone ring with 1977 a letter “F” in its design.

We are working with area high schools to help find records on graduates who might be the owners of these long-lost class rings! We will keep you posted as we continue our super-sleuthing!
