There's even a version called The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens written by Covey's son.
Dale Carnegie first published this self-help book in 1948, so you might think it's out of date by now. However, a revised version came out in 1990 to help keep it relevant for modern readers. Since the book was originally published, it has helped millions of readers overcome the worry habit. In the book, Carnegie highlights ways to keep calm in stressful situations, avoid fussing over trifles and letting go of the past.
How to Win Friends and Influence People
As another winning book authored by Dale Carnegie, How to Win Friends and Influence People has sold 15 million copies since it was originally published. This one is even older than his other most famous self help book; it was first printed in 1936. However, thanks to a new edition published in 1981 with updated language, relevant anecdotes and revised sections, the book remains quite modern today. You can find it in physical print or digital versions for your e-reader.
As it turns out, some self help books are so fundamental, they remain relevant generation after generation. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is another book published decades ago; this one in 1937. Think about the economic climate in the 1930s and how inspirational Hill's book must have been for families struggling through the Great Depression. It remains incredibly influential to this day; in fact, a full 70 years after it was published, BusinessWeek ranked it the sixth best-selling paperback. It's also on John C. Maxwell's A Lifetime "Must Read" Books List.
David Schwartz published this self-help book in 1959 to instruct people in the art of setting and achieving goals. If there's anything you want to change in your life, Schwartz's step-by-step guide helps you achieve your goal. The idea is that small thoughts hold people back, but big, positive thoughts drive them forward.
