World Toilet Day
This the 12th World Toilet Day, with the purpose of bringing attention to the fact that there are more than 2.5 billion people in the world without access to clean toilets. Observed in 19 countries around the world, this day recognizes the absolute need for proper sanitation. The World Toilet organization's goals include promoting world sanitation, advocating for developing countries to create sanitation standards, and creating more awareness of these types of issues. Those who have access to clean water and sanitary conditions must helpraise attention. It is unacceptable that in this day and age almost 40% of the world's population do not having proper sanitation which combined with the lack of clean drinking water contributes to many of the world's health problems.. This year's World Toilet Summit is being held in Indonesia and other host countries include the USA, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Ireland, Russia, Thailand, India, and South Africa.
